The floats should be set to 1" with the float...

The floats should be set to 1" with the float bowl gasket removed. Gray plug color is what you should have with today's lower quality gas.

Don't know which pod filters you have, but some of the cheaper ones can be restrictive. I would try a short run with them off.

Could try no air filter for a short ride to see if it will then exceed 6.5K. May be restricted air flow. If you have the factory air box, just remove the lower half.

Yep, I remember getting some custom bushings from Lindemann many years back, was not the effort changing them myself, buggered up the fork leg pretty bad. :mad:

The upper stanchion bushes are probably still available but not the lowers, they never were. They are a non removable part of the lower fork leg according to Yamaha.

I have been doing that for years, adding an extra steel to the clutch pack on mine and my friends XS's. Has never slipped on any of our bikes even with older standard duty springs.
