Plate Washers under Valve springs

Repairing bent valves in a newly acquired 79 XS750. PO ommitted the washers beneath the valve springs. Yamaha has discontinued the part, and I cannot find a substitute. The part number is 90201-21381-00. Does anyone have 6 of these to sell? Contact me via PM.
Thanks,
Larry

Hope

Don't know if they are common with with XS11, but if they are, Andreas would have them

We have a junkyard in Michigan that might be able to help:

Bring that Triple to Vintage Yamaha Rally in September. We're in your back yard.

I have a bucket of valve springs I've removed from junk heads. Never saw a spring washer on any of them.

Same here, I have a plastic bag with valves, springs, retainers, keepers, lifters, that I have removed from an old head, but no plate washers. I would have saved them also if they were present. I know the plate washers are shown on the parts list...Makes me wonder if they remained stuck inside of the head?
Interesting mystery, wish I still had the head here to investigate.

Shims

Most all engine/cylinder head manufacturers use a steel shim under the spring of an aluminum head. Keeps spring from gouging the aluminum. Automotive spring shims come in .015", .030", and .060" thicknesses. Also come in various diameters. See which diameter you need. Go to summitracing.com and see if they have something you can use.

Found 'em

Presbyopia means "old eyes". I found the washers when doing the final cleaning of the head before assembly. Carb cleaner and compressed air brought them out. Before that, my vision was not clear enough to distinguish their presence. Thanks for all the replys.
The Rally in September at Robbinsville, NC sounds great. I may try to make that!

You have at least 5 bikes to choose from! We'd love to see them (and you). Folks are friendly, so you will meet people easily.

Our lock on all the space at the resort expired yesterday. It is advisable to get on board immediately. You can cancel without penalty into late July.
http://ironhorsenc.com Reservation advisable even for camping. There is a rally thread on here someplace.

Crossville

Hi Larry,
As I had never heard of Crossville TN I looked it up on Google maps.
A nice days ride to IH in September
Claims to be the Golf Capital of Tennessee yet the only pictures are of a lovely stone arch bridge, City Hall and some normal looking homes. AND a huge model railway layout.
Looks like a nice place to live.
Phil
