Read 1st:Member Locator criteria

Okay folks, to assist each other in being able to search for members that might be close to "US", I'm creating a collection of location threads to post in.

**Also, Please Edit your Member Profile by putting your Area Code ### into your ICQ# field, to allow Advanced searching of the Members List!**

Please post a message in the appropriate thread location, and include your Forum Handle;
Name if you want to;

your zip code but only the first 3 numbers, using the format:
zip### NO SPACES

your area code, using the format:
area### NO SPACES

City, State: DON'T USE THE STANDARD 2 Letter state abbreviations, needs at least 3 letters for proper search, so spell out the state, and use the 1st three letters in ANY SEARCH. See threads for spelling to use for searching.

Example:
Topcatgr58
T. Curtis Gresham
Area757
Zip23703
Portsmouth, Virginia

Please WAIT until I get the threads posted, It's Late Tonight, I'll finish them soon!!

Below is how the locations will be grouped:
Oregon;Washington;Idaho
California;Nevada
Texas;Oklahoma
Arizona;Utah;New Mexico;Colorado
Montana;Wyoming
North/South Dakota
Nebraska;Kansas
Minnesota;Wisconsin
Iowa;Missouri
Arkansas;Mississippi;Louisiana
Alabama;Georgia;Florida
North/South Carolina
Tennessee;Kentucky
Illinois;Indiana
Michigan;Ohio

Pennsylvania;New York
Connecticutt;Massachusetts;Vermont;New Hampshire
Alaska;Hawaii
Maine;New Brunswick;Nova Scotia;New Foundland;Prince Edward Isle
Quebec;Ontario
Alberta;British Columbia
Manitoba;Saskatchewan

Will probably add these as well, not sure how many European XSives read/use the Forum, vs. their own web site?
Australia/New Zealand
United Kingdom
Europe

Your post is still there. Use the search tab at the top of the page to look for 'members california' and you will be directed to the California, Nevada page. You're about half way down. Following TC's design for the page, you can also use the search tool to look for 'zip950*', with the search tool selected for "Show Results as Posts" to get just a short list of folks who should theoretically be pretty close to you. Taking the same search back to 'zip95*', again with show as posts gives a bit longer list.

Where am I? Right here in front of the computer...

I've been frapped also!

John 11-24-2005 08:26 AM

Maybe we could talk TC or Ken, or 66, somebody in a position of power, into making this map a sticky, so we can find it easily, without having to search for it.

Hobbit 11-24-2005 04:09 PM

Map

Good idea, but even better - have it as part of the new member registration.

Ken Talbot 11-24-2005 06:39 PM

Done, and moved back over to members lounge where it belongs.. ;) ;) ;) ;) :D

After registering as an XS Frapper, I found that the little bubble for my house was actually over the state pen. I don't think I live at the pen. If your bubble isn't right, you can edit it. my location is now correct.;)

Street_Rat78 11-25-2005 08:17 AM

Already registered ... Hiding out in South Carolina.

C'mon guys (and gals) so far we're up to 58 members ... and I know theres a whole lot more of us on here. Lets get those locations listed and marked. This could be great for planning a nice weekend road trip.

BLUEJEEPLAB 12-02-2005 10:53 AM

How do you edit your bubble? I have a mispell in mine and my bubble shows me living on the wrong side of the tracks. (Those days are behind me now :D )

mn2346 12-03-2005 03:28 AM

Seems that there is no editing at this point (it's at a Beta site) but I can remove your previous Bubble and you can create a new one.

Send me a email if this is what you want.
Seems that there is a "BlueJeepLab" and I assume it's you?

You could try to add another shoutout (Bubble) with the same name and see what happens...

-M

mn2346 12-03-2005 03:40 AM

However if you have a user account you can remove the Shoutout and place a another.

to the FAQ page ->

Hi

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I'm on the Frappr too! :D

btdtdan 12-26-2005 07:12 PM

I found me and posted a picture of my hack.

Ken Talbot 12-26-2005 09:30 PM

... Interesting when you go in and zoom in on the various member's flags. For instance, if you try to zoom in on Strom's flag, it stops with basically the the entire country filling a screen. Here in western rural Canada, you can zoom much closer, down to street level detail. Scoobes - are you actually just across the strreet from the beach, right next to a round-a-bout?

scoobes 12-27-2005 06:34 AM

hi ken,i have just had a look and i live about 6 miles south of there, that is a car park were iam supposed to live but how do you move the thingy to show were i do live????? will go and have a play.

Yammayeeha 12-27-2005 06:40 AM

Eh Scoobes,

you moved then?

You've got two home locations now!!

Yer divvy!

scoobes 12-27-2005 06:49 AM

chevy45412001 12-27-2005 08:45 PM

GNEPIG 12-27-2005 10:33 PM

GNEPIG 12-27-2005 10:49 PM

You can edit the location to be exact unless you've got a reason to hide...;)

GNEPIG 01-01-2006 09:36 PM

xs650mike 01-09-2006 03:44 PM

Try using your postal code.

Bauer 01-25-2006 02:55 PM

Where are the links to these threads. Could you post them in here T.C.? maybe in your original post.

I remember posting in one with my old handle. but Would like to update it if possible

Ken Talbot 01-25-2006 05:56 PM

You should be able to find yourself by using the search tool at the top of the page. Following the syntax explained at the start, I would look for myself using something like this:

zipV0E 2S0 or
area250 or
City, State: Revelstoke

You could try
Handle: Bauer

(This is why we have spent a bit of time editing everybody's submission to ensure it exactly matches the standard syntax, otherwise these lists would be useless for this exercise)

Pain 02-10-2006 06:06 PM

I just saw this and added my own self.

Another Wisconsinite Frappred.

If you poke around frappr you'll eventually find the edit function and you can put the pointer right on top of your house if you wish. I'd tell you how but I forgot how I did it.

scoobes 03-24-2006 04:02 AM

hey it has took me a while but i have moved the thingy over my house, just need to delete the other one now.:D :D
