pan head screw size
Time for carb kits, i have read that it is a good time to replace the pan head screw on the carb bowls. I plan on allen head bolts,
so what size and length will i need to order. i want everthing on hand thank you old_bartender

I believe those screws are M6 x 1 x3/4

Hi OBT,
Mine are M5, but there are different lengths in different types of carb; best to pull one out of the bowl and a couple from the tops (different length screws in the tops between tin and ally caps, and longer ones to clamp the throttle-cable plate!) You need to check! AlanB

There's a company on ebay that will sell you a set of stainless smooth headed hex screws that will replace the bowl and vacuum diaphragm cover fasteners. Just search XS1100 stainless on ebay. You'll pay for the convienience but if you just want 'em and don't want to drive all around town looking...
