auto cct install
I just bought an auto cct off ebay. Can anyone give me any advice before I install it or is there a forum already? Couldn't find what I was looking for. Still a rookie and don't want to do any damage. Thanks

Follow the cct removal and install just like it says in the manual. Nothing special. Just remember to depress the plunger and remove the spring before installing it and after bolting the housing on then put the spring and cap on.
Also which auto cct did you get?

It's off an 2006 Venture Royal. I've been told it will work. It looks just like the other pics I have seen on here.

To remove your cam chain tensioner...
1. Put the bike on center stand 2. Remove the spark plugs (this will make it easier to turn the engine over by hand). 3. Remove the screws securing the ignition cover (In front of your left foot). 4. Slowly rotate the crankshaft clockwise several times with a wrench on the nut at the left-hand end of the crankshaft. Stop the rotation when the "C" mark on the timing plate aligns with the stationary pointer (if you go past this point carry on round until it comes up again, do not wind it back anti-clockwise) 5. Unbolt tensioner

IIRC, you need to use shorter bolts that hold the tensioner to the motor, the allen head ones. You may also have to temporarily bolt the tensioner to the motor to break loose the large front bolt.
