Non-xs-carbs, who, what, and do they work?

I am just wondering for winter project ideas already who is using a non XS carb does it work well/better/worse how difficult was it? is there anything out there with a lot of bang for the buck or can you do just as well banging away at these 30 year old carbs?

fj1100 carbs

I have 85 fj1100 carbs on my 78 they are almost plug and play just need to rig a bar mounted choke system and push pull throttle, as for fit they are easier to intstall than stock

I'm using ...

on my G, VM33 Mikuni round slide smooth bores. They work fine with the header and pods. Weren't as good before installing a set of pods though.

Frankly for my kinda' 'take it pretty easy' style of riding, I much prefer the stock BS34s as long as they're in good condition and properly set up.

FWIW, I have seen and heard and even tweeked on Garth's bike with the FJ carbs and if I, myself, were going to need some different carbs, that is what I'd be lookin' for.

One HSR45 Flat-Slide carb.

Very tunable, Lots of accelerator pump to reduce lag.
